The week I decided to turn my life around

“This is the week I submit my Kickstarter” I wrote in my own Lunar Logbook, and I did. It happened. The page is live and you can pledge now for your physical copy of Lunar Logbook, my moon planner for creating the magical story you wish to live! Behind the scenes though, aka in my ‘real life’, a week I expected to be about work became more about wellness. It’s a happy story, but along the way there is some stress about food, so note the content warning if applicable. But first, we start in my newly crowned second favourite Scottish city…

SUNDAY 22-09-24

Mighty Dundee! Come for the art, stay for… more art! I’d been told this small city is worth a visit for the V&A, but once we got there, Dundee delighted me with more to love. Home to the best collection of sculptures I’ve seen across a city, celebrating fictional characters and animals. So much was born in Dundee - the Lemmings, Oor Wullie, the RSS Discovery that sailed to Antarctica, and WayStar’s’ own Logan Roy. The art scene is strong, passionately local, and protective of the planet. The V&A, carrying its weight in name recognition, surprised me with its balance of grandeur and cosiness: ‘The Living Room of the City’, a purposeful space to gather, create, and play, with few but fine exhibitions. I trust I’ll be journeying across the bridges for another visit soon.

MONDAY 23-09-24

This blogging project is starting to change my life. I wondered what would happen when I reached a day I didn’t love a photo about. For every photograph I share, there are a couple more contenders I delete, or moments in my day I adore so much I don’t get out the camera. Or like right now, on Arthur’s Seat, where I write, but the pictures don’t do the scene justice. I wish you could see the monuments on Calton Hill fading into the vast gray sky like I do. The calm water of the Forth disappears into the fog.

Yesterday I decided to change my life, and by last night I knew how.
